Last updated: 3 September 2026

1. Introduction

1.1 Tidal Services Limited ("Tidal", "we", "us" or "our") operates the Tidal website, app and cleaning services (the "Service"). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Service in Ireland, how we use it, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1.2 This policy applies to all information collected through the Service and any related sales, marketing or customer support.

2. Who is responsible for your data

2.1 The data controller is Tidal Services Limited, company number 12637144, registered address F01 The Incubation Centre, Durham Way South, Newton Aycliffe, DL5 6XP, United Kingdom. You can contact us about your data at contact@tidalcleaningservices.co.uk.

3. Definitions

  • Personal Data: data about a living individual who can be identified from that data, alone or together with other information we hold.
  • Usage Data: data collected automatically from your use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself.
  • Cookies: small pieces of data stored on your device.
  • Data Processor (or Service Provider): any person or company that processes data on our behalf.

4. What we collect and why

4.1 Personal Data. When you request a quote or book with us we ask for your name, phone number, email address, the address and Eircode of the property, and details about the property and the services you would like. When you pay, our payment provider collects your card details; we never see or store them.

4.2 Usage Data. We may collect information your browser or device sends when you use the Service, such as pages visited and device type.

4.3 How we use it. We use your data to provide a quote, arrange and carry out your cleans, send you reminders and confirmations, take payment and manage your account; to provide customer support; to improve the Service; to detect and prevent fraud and technical problems; to meet our legal obligations; and, where you have agreed, to tell you about our services.

4.4 Legal bases. We process your data because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business, because the law requires it, or, for marketing, because you have consented. You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. How long we keep it

5.1 We keep Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above, and thereafter for as long as we need it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

5.2 Usage Data is generally kept for a shorter period, unless it is needed for security, to improve the Service, or we are legally obliged to keep it longer.

6. Where your data is processed

6.1 Tidal is established in the United Kingdom, and your data is transferred to and processed in the United Kingdom. The European Commission has recognised the United Kingdom as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data, so this transfer is permitted under the GDPR.

6.2 Some of our service providers may process data in other countries. Where that happens we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. Who we share it with

7.1 Cleaners. Your name, address, access instructions and contact details are shared with the cleaner carrying out your clean so they can do the job.

7.2 Service providers. We use trusted companies to help us run the Service, such as payment processing, messaging, customer relationship management and analytics. They may only use your data to provide those services to us.

7.3 Legal requirements. We may disclose your data where the law requires it or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

7.4 Business transfers. If Tidal is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your data may be transferred. We will tell you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

8. Security

8.1 We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

9.1 Under the GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you; to have inaccurate data corrected; to have your data erased in certain circumstances; to restrict or object to how we use it; to receive the data you gave us in a portable format; and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.

9.2 To exercise any of these rights, email contact@tidalcleaningservices.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

9.3 You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's supervisory authority, at dataprotection.ie.

10. Cookies and analytics

10.1 Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make it work and to understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

11. Links to other sites

11.1 The Service may contain links to sites we do not operate. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of third-party sites.

12. Children

12.1 The Service is not aimed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

13. Changes to this policy

13.1 We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top, and we will tell you by email or a notice on the Service before any significant change takes effect.
